William F. "Bill" Sayward, age 61, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, April 16, 2017 in Southeast Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in North Easton. Born in Fall River, a son of the late Harold A. "Hoof" and Leonora "Lee" (Pereira) Sayward, he was a longtime resident of Fall River.

A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, class of 1973, he worked as a cook at Union Hospital for many years. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and during his youth was a member of their choir and served as an altar boy. Bill was an avid New England sport fan and especially loved the Boston Bruins.

He is survived by his four sisters, Mary Kathryn Lowney and her husband Patrick of Fall River, Nancy Lee Boardman of Fall River, Carolyn S. Estrella and her husband Joseph Estrella Jr. of North Dighton, Maureen B. Pontes and her husband Steven of Punta Gorda, FL and one niece and several nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

His Funeral will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 9:00AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in St. Mary's Cathedral, Spring St., Fall River. Visiting hours Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Contributions in his honor may be made to St. Mary's Cathedral, 327 Second St., Fall River, MA 02721. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River.
