Raymond Joseph Valcourt Sr., "Ray," age 92, passed away peacefully at Charlton Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. The husband of the late Eleanor (Oldrid) Valcourt, he was a resident of Swansea, Massachusetts for over fifty years.

Born in Fall River, the son of the late Albert C. and Ida (Achin) Valcourt, he was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School and Fisher Junior College. Ray served in the US Navy during WWII, The Korean Conflict, and Vietnam War. As a Fleet Sailor, Ray saw action at Mid-Way and Guadalcanal and as a Submariner, Ray served during the Cold War, retiring after twenty-five years of honorable service. Ray was a member of numerous service clubs and a plank owner of The US Navy Memorial.

He is survived by his three sons, Raymond and wife Deborah of Estero Florida, Allen and his companion Lory Lavoie of Fairhaven Massachusetts, Mark and wife Karen of Warren Rhode Island; one daughter, Patricia and husband Thomas of Reading Massachusetts; two sisters, Muriel Walker of New Britain, Connecticut and Delores Dias of Fall River, Massachusetts; six grandchildren, Laura Cyr, Jessica Borges, Kimberly Valcourt, Mark Valcourt, Jaclyn Taylor, Jenna Taylor; six great grandchildren, Elle, Mischa, Owen, Aiden, Christopher, and Noah and long-time companion, Lorraine Mederios of Swansea, Massachusetts. Services and burial will be private
