Lucille J. (Blais) Dubois, age 88, of Fairhaven, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Care One of New Bedford. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Joseph E. Dubois.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Ovide and Eva Mabel (Proulx) Blais, she lived in New Bedford before moving to Fairhaven where she has lived for the past 22 years. A communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, she was a homemaker and also worked for many years as a stitcher in New Bedford.
Lucille's favorite color was pink. She very much enjoyed listening to country music with her daughter Lucille, especially going to the VFW in Taunton to see her favorite band, Manny Massa and the Goat Roper Band.
She is survived by two daughters, Lucille "Bunny" Guimont of Fairhaven and Doreen Kinsey of Anchorage, AK; one brother, Joseph Blais and his wife Carol of East Hartford, CT; one son-in-law, Alphonse Guimont of Pearland, TX; four grandchildren, Karen Giese and her husband William of Pearland, TX, Gary Guimont of N. Reading, Renee Martel of Anchorage, AK and Christopher Martel of Fall River; nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and many loving nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Juliette Savaria.
Her Funeral will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 8AM from the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by her Funeral Mass at 9AM at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 121 Mt. Pleasant St., New Bedford. Visiting hours Monday from 5PM to 8 PM. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Bedford.
