Fernando Cesar Raposo, 85, of Metacom Avenue passed away on March 7, 2018 at home. He was the husband of Maria do Amor Devino (Almeida) Raposo.

Born in Feteiras do Sul, St. Michael Azores, he was the son of the late Manuel Raposo Cabral and Maria deJesus Costa. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Fernando Raposo and his wife Aura, and Berta Raposo; grandchildren Chelsi Raposo, Nicholas Raposo, Alyssa Raposo; and brothers Jordao Cabral and Jacinto Cabral. He was the father of the late Adelino Raposo and brother of the late Floreberta Raposo, Carlos Cabral and Juvencio Raposo.

Mr. Raposo was educated in Portugal where he was an established dairy farmer. He immigrated to the US in 1967 and worked in the construction industry for long time employer JM Rosa of Orange, CT; Forte Bros Construction of Cumberland, RI and was self-employed with Raposo Construction Inc. During this time, he continued pursuing his farming passion and trained bulls for the cultural tradition of cart pulling often participating in the Holy Ghost processions as a devotion to his strong faith.
His funeral services will be held Saturday, March 10th, 10 AM from the George Lima Funeral Home 367 High Street with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth's Church 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Bristol.
Calling hours are Friday 5 - 8 PM.
