COLARUSSO, DOMENIC 88, of Hybrid Drive Cranston passed away peacefully at home Friday March 17, 2017. He was the husband of the late Lucy (Neri) Colarusso. Born in Providence he was a son of the late Domenico and Amelia (Altobello) Colarusso. Mr. Colarusso was a self-employed pharmacist and owner of Prime Drug. Well known and loved by the community of Providence's west-end, he only ceased working to care for his beloved wife. His family meant everything to him. He was a WWII Army Veteran. He is survived by his son, John D. Colarusso, and his wife Elaine. He was the father of the late Peter V. Colarusso and the late Julie A. Smith and her husband Jeffrey. Devoted and loving grandfather of Elaina, Peter, David, Lianna and John Nicholas Colarusso; Lucca and Bianca Smith and "adopted" grandfather of Garsy Karimnejad. He was great-grandfather of Sophia, Gian Domenic and Mina Karimnejad. He was the brother of Marie Lauro and Anna Campagnone and the late John, Fred, Raymond and Peter Colarusso. He leaves many cherished nieces and nephews, all whom brought him great joy. His funeral is Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. from "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mark Church, Cranston. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. Calling Hours Monday 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hope Alzheimer's Center, 25 Brayton Avenue, Cranston RI 02920 or Assumption Church, 791 Potters Avenue, Providence RI 02907.
