Catherine May (Salisbury) Giuliano, 82, of Salem, NH, died March 15th at Lawrence General Hospital with her family by her side and holding her hands. Kaye was born on September 10, 1934 to the late Viola and Leroy Salisbury in Providence, RI. She grew up as a city girl on a gentleman's farm in Chepachet, RI and graduated from Cranston High School East in 1952. Kaye then worked in retail and as a telephone operator before marriage to Vincent J. Giuliano in 1959. After early motherhood, she returned to work as a customer service representative for Old Stone Bank for 18 years and won a number of awards. She moved from North Providence, RI to Salem, NH in 2001 to be closer to her grandchildren, and took great pleasure in being Nana Kaye. While part of the Salem community, she found joy in working for Meals-on-Wheels, becoming close to many of her clients. Kaye had a big, colorful personality and quick smile. She was an avid and ever-evolving cook and baker, and loved preparing multi-course meals or throwing parties for extended family and friends; all were welcome and all left well-fed. She pored over cook books and cooking magazines, loved long conversations over wine, and took special pleasure in trimming birthdays and holidays with personal extras. She loved to read novels, watch movies, listen to a range of music, and doing crossword puzzles and Sudoku. Kaye was a warm, generous and tireless mother of three, caregiver to her own mother for many years, and grandmother of four, and her greatest pleasure came from making their lives brighter and easier. Kaye is survived by her three children, Anthony (and Karen) Giuliano of Salem, NH; Kathy Giuliano (and Ed Connell) of Pompano Beach, FL; Lisa Giuliano (and DeeniePacik) of Warwick, RI; her brother, Joseph (and Marie) Salisbury of Medford, OR; and her four grandchildren, Marissa and Christopher Giuliano of Salem, NH and Ari and Eli Pacik Giuliano of Warwick, RI. She was predeceased by her younger brothers, Leroy, of Hudson, NH in 2013 and Arthur in 1940. A private memorial service will be held at "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston, RI 02910 on Saturday, March 25th, followed by a private burial at St. Ann's Cemetery in Cranston, RI. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kaye's name to Kelly Library, 234 Main Street, Salem, NH 03079 or Rockingham Nutrition and Meals on Wheels, 106 North Road, Brentwood, NH 03833.
